Day 10 – Covid test day 2

Another beautifully timeless day. I’m starting to think I could just live like this forever! Kidding. I know the days are counting down for me to go back out in to the world… but not just yet.

The beautiful sun was back and I was warm and excited for the day! I did some writing, yoga and then decided to have ANOTHER bath!! Geez, I have a whole new appreciation for baths now. Maybe because I never made time to just lay there and do nothing before. Or maybe because I was never doing them right. I ran some body wash under the tap and it made huge mountains of bubbles. That plus the candles, bath salts, fairy lights and a cuppa tea. This is how you have a bath!!

With all this restriction from technology, all I felt like doing today was reading and writing and drawing. I finished ‘Lord Edgware Dies’ (another brilliant Agatha Christie novel – she really never ceases to amaze me but thats a whole other conversation) and the comic I was on so ill probably start the next A.C novel tomorrow…

It was so wonderfully warm, I took this opportunity to just enjoy undistracted and (that I know of) unwitnessed nudity. I cannot be the only one in this hotel quarantine doing this!! So there I was, sitting down, looking out the windows towards the city buildings and eating my food, NAKED!

There was a bagel on the breakfast menu today so opted for the first meal. I had yogurt with granola, fruits and banana bread. I decided to save my bagel for tomorrow since it was already lunch time and received the second meal of the day and was stuffing my face with that too. A veggie rissole (kind of like a hash brown/rosti made of veggies and bread crumbs with nap sauce, a bread bun, a beetroot, orange, walnut, roquette and feta salad and a chocolate cookie.

I was in a fat food coma and almost fell asleep but then heard the knock on the door, so I grabbed my silk kimono and answered to the nurses. They conducted the second covid test (just as unpleasant as the first) and was told my results would come in writing on day 13. The back of my nostrils were still aching a good 15-mins after that so hopefully that means they got what they needed!

At about 5:30, I officially gave in to technology after almost 3 days without it. I needed my laptop to start writing something longer than just my thoughts for the day. I did not however choose to use the internet – that can wait. I am really not looking forward to responding to all the messages and emails I’ve received while being in my bubble – thats going to be a huge chunk of time.  And eventually I’ll have to type up and post all these entries I’ve been writing down in a notebook instead, so i guess i should come back to earth soon. I decided I’ll just continue to post daily even though ill technically be 3-days ahead. No one will know anyway…

As I was writing away, the knock for dinner comes and so i gave myself a break to enjoy the rice, fried tofu and greens, a rice noodle salad, a slice of red velvet cake, mud cake AND a macaroon – they went hard on desserts tonight! Then had some coffee and went back to writing….

I am very much enjoying walking around my little sanctuary with nothing but my ankle long, reversible, black and navy blue, silk kimono with an orange and yellow flying dragon embroidered on the back that I got from Chinatown. I feel like a South American drug lord with my belly out and drink in hand. Only thing missing is my pet white tiger and a fat Cuban cigar in the other. The sun is starting to so my guess is its probably 5pm which means dinner will be here shortly. Time goes enjoyably slow when you don’t have a little clock telling you what number is passing by. I actually thought I’d be spending more time naked and experimenting how long I can go before I felt uncomfortable. Turns out since I get cold way too easily and the hotel aircon doesn’t go higher than 25 degrees, that one is just gonna have to wait. I guess being off the live stream really did make more of a difference than I thought it would…
