I decided to finally power hose the old driveway and since the pavement is over 20 years old, a lot of dirt and dust had accumulated over the years. Mind you the end of the water stream is about the size of a 50c piece so you can imagine how long it took to complete. I did in about a couple hour bouts.
It wasn’t the act of standing static, pointing at the floor, brain dead, that was getting to me. I actually didn’t mind that. I had earphones in and chucked on a podcast. It was the gripping and having to hold a squeezed hand position for a long period of time that got my traps and wrists aching and inevitably extending the length of the whole process. Until I had this idea…
The stupid thing doesn’t come with a lock for the handle, I guess to save water incase it gets stuck. So I thought of how I could get it to stay activated so I could loosen from my bone numbing ghostbuster power stance. I thought first maybe a shoelace, didn’t have one. A cable tie, but then it would be a pain to cut off and get a new one every time I needed a break. Yes you can turn it off on the base but if its in the locked position, it still leaks and im not proud of it but it wastes a lot of water as it is. The good thing is, a task like this isn’t a maintenance chore but a once in a blue moon so its not as disturbing (although the environmentally hippie child version of me would not be happy).
As I was searching through the garage, I came across my dog’s old leesh and voila!
The perfect tool for this power hose hack! After doing this, the job was quicker, easier, with less breaks and no hand or arm aches.
