With all the technical stuff out of the way, today was just going back to my little “hotel retreat”. Regular everyday yoga, reading, dancing around in my silk gown, and since i’m back to technology now and still nowhere to go, I watched some funny films. If you have not seen ‘Big Business’, I implore you to watch this film! It of course has a ridiculous but genius storyline – as it is based off of a Shakespeare (another obsession of mine) play. But it also has some of the most exceptional acting I have ever seen! So funny. So watch it… Oh and of course, she had another bath. And why not! When you have nothing but time, no responsibilities (well… putting them aside until I’m out), and can’t leave the room – there really is no reason not to.
I think I am now the only person left on the 37th floor, which I thought was odd. I could hear some vacuuming going on in the rooms around me every now and again, then when I picked up my meal outside the door today, I noticed that all the trays in front of the others doors were missing, so must just be me! (Music was extra extra loud evening!!)
At that specific moment I was looking about, the security guards must have been swapping over because there was no one down the hall. There was nobody at all… I had the biggest urge to just run up and down the hall and see if I could get away with it! I didn’t though… Or did I?
I didn’t.
Well I guess no one will know…
It really is almost that time. WOW it’s weird. I feel like I’ve been in here forever and this is just the new norm. What a really odd transition from living overseas for 13-months and instead of going straight back home, to come into a 2-week period of just keeping alive, eating whatever is on the floor on the tray outside and unable to leave a 28 by 28 square meter box!
I must say though, I think I was beginning to get a little too comfortable in here. But then I remembered something exciting… I have not been in Sydney in over a year! And even before that, since I was always working in the city, I would usually venture out on my days off.
So during one of my windowsill sitting, soaking up the sun (reflections), looking out the window to the crazy world beyond moments, I started to feel quite excited. I almost thought I could live like this forever but now I just can’t wait to get out and explore this city all over again! Anyone who says there is nothing to do in Sydney (or Aus for that matter) is kidding themselves! If you can sit there and tell me that this CITY, in one of the most diverse countries in the world is boring, I would like to dislike you but instead I will just prove you wrong. You just have to be willing to find all the fun! Trust me, it’s there. Maybe i’ll write a blog about it…
Oh yeah, FOOD! Lunch was a veggie pie, a pack of og flavoured chippies and a salad with cashew parmesan (exactly what you’re thinking – vegan parmesan cheese made from cashews and seasoning). Dinner was a fish curry (yum) with rice, a kale, bean, onion and farro salad with cheese, and grapes, strawberries and blueberries for dessert.
Tomorrow I get my test results and if I test negative (which I’m assuming since my first one was negative, this one will be too), information about my departure the following day. YIKES it’s almost time! I guess tomorrow I should start packing…
