Red Hot Chilli Peppers Concert

First time I saw Chillies was about 4 years ago and it was their first time back in Aus in 12 years! So it felt pretty special to be apart of. I remember being in the mosh, somewhere in the middle, just soaking it all in. Every single song was hitting the crowd hard. They were putting on a solid show and I remember thinking “damn they look like they’re having the best time ever”.

I would one by one focus my view on each band member as they performed their own individual show, in their own little concert for me to enjoy. I’d go from watching lead singer Anthony Kiedis’ stellar performance to Chad Smith loosing his shit on the drums, to Flea making love to his bass and John Frusciante ripping into the guitar. Even the keyboard player is dancing around and having a ball. I was tripping out at watching these multiple mini concerts happen and come together creating one big explosion of talent. The visuals were sick too. They had an arch of circular screens around one big arch screen filled with either crazy artistic animations or different lights or the camera on members of the band. It also kind of reminded me of an animal paw print…

This time around seeing them, it was in an outdoor stadium (THANK YOU). Nothing like an outdoor concert on a warm summer night under the stars. It also happened to be a full moon and it was getting closer and closer to us as the night went on. Post Malone was also the supporting act so it was like two concerts in one. A guaranteed good time.

As soon as the show started, I was right back to my 2019 thoughts and admiring these members having the time of their lives, putting on a 10/10 performance. I got mosh tickets again (you can’t not.) and this time I was maybe 10 people from the front and it was sensational. I was peeping through shoulders and watching the guys in front of my eyes and not at the screens. It doesn’t get much better than that!

And oh my the visuals would put anyone on a trip. They had this beautiful waterfall screen with all the trippy visual art stimulating our third eyes and hippy hearts. I felt like I got lost in time, through the hits, the newbies and the jamming. When it all did finally come to an end, I had a feeling like it was all over so fast and I had been there forever all at the same time. And I also vowed to myself that I will never ever miss these guys’ concert if they are coming to a city I am in until they stop making music.

So if you are ever in a city they’re playing at, do yourself a favour. You actually won’t regret it in the least.

Now picture it all moving while elevated on a micro dose of shrooms.

Oh yes.
